Study-In City Pages: Find Local Rooms

Join or host rooms anchored to your city or region. Keep a predictable timer cadence and clear etiquette so locals can drop in fast.

How-to

Join or start a local room

  1. Browse the Study-In directory to pick your country, region, or city.
  2. Open a city page to see curated rooms, typical active windows, and etiquette notes.
  3. Join a listed room or use the city template to start your own; set a clear timer cadence (25/5 or 50/10).
  4. Post a one-line purpose and local time window so newcomers can align quickly.
  5. Share your city’s Study-In link in campus or community channels so others can join the same anchor room.

Good etiquette

  • Post local time windows (“M–Th 7–9p local”).
  • Keep timers predictable: 25/5 for mixed groups, 50/10 for deep work nights.
  • Pin a purpose line so drop-ins know the vibe (quiet study, cam-optional pairing, language table).
  • Rotate a host; swap if the original lead drops to keep presence active.

FAQ

Are city rooms public?

Yes, city/region pages surface public rooms meant for locals. Use your private default room if you prefer to stay invisible.

How do I add my room?

Open your city page and use the submit link (if enabled) or share a room link with a clear purpose and time window.

What if my city isn’t listed?

Start with your region page, then propose a city link. You can still run sessions using any room; the page helps discovery.

Do times adjust for timezone?

City pages display local time cues. When sharing outside the region, include the timezone in your description.
