Math error log: turn mistakes into points

Solve, tag, redo. A three-block loop that shrinks repeat mistakes before exams.

Three-step loop

Run this every problem set

Block 1: 25 / 5 solve

Work 4–8 problems; mark uncertain ones with a star.

Block 2: 10-minute error tag

Log misses by type (algebra slip, concept gap, units). Keep tags short.

Block 3: 15-minute redo (next day)

Redo only the tagged errors; note what fixed it.

FAQ

Why split solve and tag?

Solving and diagnosing use different attention modes; separating them improves accuracy.

How big should each set be?

4–8 problems per 25-minute block keeps quality high. Add another block if you have time.

Can I do this with a friend?

Yes—swap error logs in the break for quick peer feedback.
