Accountability circles

Study Circles are invite-only pods anchored to their own room, timer defaults, and shared stats. Use this playbook to launch in minutes and keep members honest between every sprint.

Launch playbook

Spin up your circle in three moves

Circles bundle a landing page, invite workflows, and an always-on room. Follow these steps to get the first sprint scheduled this week.

Open the Circles hub

Head to /circles to name your pod, pick visibility, and auto-provision a dedicated Study Spaces room plus invite link.

Launch hub

Lock your defaults

Use Room settings to set timer duration, add a description, and pin rituals so every host runs the same flow.

Onboard members

Share the invite-only landing page or code, ask everyone to save their identity, and run a short kickoff to confirm expectations.

Kickoff (10 min)

Celebrate last week’s wins, reiterate the purpose, and capture fresh goals inside Tracks or chat.

Deep work block (40–60 min)

Run two Pomodoro cycles or one longer sprint. Cameras stay optional while circle chat logs check-ins.

Wrap + next steps (10 min)

Call on each member to report progress, document blockers, and schedule the next meetup before anyone drops.

Accountability loops

Keep momentum between live sessions

  • Keep circles to 2–5 people so intros and wrap-ups stay under 10 minutes.
  • Name your default room after the circle and pin a handbook message inside chat for quick onboarding.
  • Rotate the facilitator role weekly so everyone practices leading and posting recaps.
  • Log outcomes in Tracks or the focus log so the Circles hub analytics reflect real commitments.

FAQ

How many people belong in a circle?

Two to five members keeps intros fast while still giving everyone a voice. Bigger groups should split into multiple circles.

Do we have to stay on video?

No. Most circles open cameras for kickoff, then mute during the sprint and rely on chat plus timer cues.

Where do I manage invites and roles?

The Circles hub centralizes membership, invite codes, and landing pages. Owners can promote or remove members there.

How do we keep people accountable between calls?

Use Tracks, circle chat recaps, and the shared stats inside /circles so everyone sees streaks, attendance, and commitments in one place.
